MINUTES OF CASRA MEETING
October 7, 2002 - MURCHISON

  1. Meeting called to order by Mark Elbom at 6:30 PM
  2. Minutes of the previous meeting: These are now available with the emailed "Good Call". Approved unanimously on a motion by Chuck Trahan , seconded by Jaime Salas.
  3. Reports:
    1. President (Mark Elbom)
      1. We just completed a successful AWSL tournament. Thanks to the refs who helped out.
      2. Will resign from the Presidency, effective Jan. 1, 2003
    2. Vice President (Michelle Maloney)
      1. Brief HS meeting after tonight's CASRA meeting.
      2. Southern Regional Snickers (Youth) Tournament will be in Austin (NEMP) in 2004.
    3. Secretary (Marc Kutner)
      1. A revised membership directory is now available. Check information, especially email address and membership year. It is hoped that we will use group emails in the future to alert members to important news that comes up between meetings.
      2. Criminal case against player who assaulted MLK scheduled for trial this week. (Assault was in April 2001.)
    4. Web site (Chris Rake)
      1. Send materials for him to post, but please make sure that copyright issues are cleared first.
    5. State Referee Committee (Steve Eells)
      1. Report from last meeting is now on our web site.
  4. Old Business
    1. CASRA dues. Following the suggestion at the last meeting by Treasurer for an increase in dues, the following motion was made by Michelle Maloney (seconded by John Smith): "Effective Jan. 1, 2003, the annual CASRA dues will increase to $20." Following discussion, the motion was approved by a vote of 42 - 0.
  5. New Business
    1. Election of new President.
      • Nominations will take place at November meeting.
      • Election will take place at December meeting.
      • If a current officer is elected, there would have to be another election to fill that vacancy
  6. Situations
    1. There was a discussion of situations involving goal keeper second touches (after releasing ball into play).
  7. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM , on a motion by John Smith (2nd by Chris Rake), for a brief HS meeting, and one hour of training by Steve Eells, on Report Writing.
