MINUTES OF CASRA MEETING
April 7, 2003 - MURCHISON

  1. Meeting called to order by Michelle Maloney at 6:30 PM
  2. Minutes of the previous meeting: These are now available with the emailed "Good Call" and on the website. Approved with no amendments
  3. Reports:
    1. President (Michelle Maloney)
      1. Jennifer Harper did some games in the recent Women's State Cup in Houston. Jennifer gave a brief report on her experiences.
      2. Introduction of guests, and possible new members: Ben Berenthal and Clay Zimmerman
      3. There will be 07 Upgrade Clinic, Sat 4/12 at Pflugervill HS
    2. Vice President (Mike Day)
    3. Secretary ():
      1. An electronic version of our membership roster, will be emailed to all current members, as soon as the corrections from tonight are added.
    4. Treasurer (Dana Brown)
      1. Checking acct balance is $2156.75
    5. Web site administrator (Chris Rake)
      1. Send news or other articles or links for inclusion in the website.
    6. News from Greater Austin Soccer Coalition (Pete Morris, via Michelle):
      1. Rainouts posted for county parks before the day in question are based on rainfall predictions that come from Texas A&M.
      2. Rainout numbers for different sites have been consolidated at 404-2332, using different mailboxes when you connect.
      3. For Zilker there is a plan to rotate using 7 of the 9 fields to promote field recovery.
      4. While the Coalition does not officially endorse political candidates, they note that one candidate in the May mayoral election, Will Wynn, has plans that will help soccer.

    1. CASRA support for Nat'l MS Society (Cilla Hammer)
    2. Cilla noted that she is doing the bike ride, and seeking donations. She also noted suggested that CASRA donate some money, which resulted in the following motion (by Dana Brown, 2nd Pete Reilly): "CASRA shall donate to Nat'l MS Society, $25 in honor of Cilla Hammer and $25 in honor of Lupe Moncebaiz." The motion passed by acclimation.
  6. Situations
    1. Michelle raised a question about PK procedure (taking the kick before a signal from the ref), and about dealing with misconduct in the wall that the referee or AR has not seen directly.
  7. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM , on a motion by Doug Chalman (2nd by Chris Rake), for 1 hour of training by , on Styles of Play.
