MINUTES OF CASRA MEETING
March 3, 2003 - MURCHISON

  1. Meeting called to order by Michelle Maloney at 6:30 PM
  2. Minutes of the previous meeting: These are now available with the emailed "Good Call" and on the website. Approved unanimously on a motion by Ellen Carlstead, seconded by Don Freidel.
  3. Reports:
    1. President
      1. Brief HS meeting after tonight's CASRA meeting.
      2. Introduction of guests, and possible new members
    2. Secretary
      1. List of current members was read off.
      2. Any member who would like an electronic version of our directory, send Kutner and email
  4. Old Business
    1. Referee assault issues (Michelle Maloney). Michelle suggested that CASRA form a group of experienced refs who can help assaulted refs through the process. There were three volunteers, and they were appointed
      1. Mark Trostle (Chair)
      2. Don Freidel
    2. This group will report back next month with a plan of action.
  5. New Business
    1. Report on Soccer Coalition activities (Pete Morris): Pete is our representative on this group that is primarily responsible for, maintenance of and division of games among, the various fields that we use in the Austin area.
      1. Motion by Pete Morris (2nd by Ellen Carlstead) for CASRA to be $25 for a refrigerator to be used by parks people at NEMP. After some discussion, the motion passed by acclimation.
      2. Suggested that Peter request, through the Coalition, a relining of some fields at NEMP to make them narrower, so areas for ARs to run is relatively clear and safe. This request has been transmitted before (on the part of CAYSA), but we will try again.
  6. Situations
    1. None.
  7. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM , on a motion by Brad Molof (2nd By Don Freidel), for a HS meeting, followed by 1 hour of lively training by Chris Ng, on Denying an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity.
